The moment I realised I wanted to become a therapist and trainer was... when, after years of passion for a holistic approach to healing, I received a Reiki treatment after a long illness and felt the healing effects almost immediately. In the following years, I trained to become a Reiki practitioner/teacher, a teacher for Autogenic Training and a Mindfulness Meditation Instructor.
What I loved about my training courses was... the fact that I learned a lot about myself while learning how to help others. It has been a wonderful journey.
The most satisfying thing about working in my profession is... to work with people and to help them with their physical, emotional, mental and often spiritual difficulties. The most satisfying thing is to see somebody discover their own potential for growth.
The ways in which I keep my own well being in check are... based on the belief that, in order to be able to help others, I have to be healthy and well-balanced myself. I make sure that I get enough sleep, I eat a balanced and healthy diet, spend a lot of time in nature and I meditate daily.
The best advice I could give to anyone is... to make sure that they do something to enhance physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health in this hectic, stressful and often very challenging life. Holistic therapies are one way to do this.
